Otis Awarded Grant from Mass Development Real Estate Services

The Otis Revitalization Committee is very pleased to announce that the grant application we submitted to Mass Development Real Estate Services has been approved. This grant requested technical assistance and planning advice regarding the vacant or abandoned properties in downtown Otis, these being Terranova’s Market, the Olde Otis Inn, and Harmony Hall, as well as the McManus Store, which remains closed due to inadequate parking.

The grant further requested guidance in district improvement financing, and a corridor analysis to provide options for reducing traffic speed through the town center. We expect to soon be receiving a scope of work (which will be presented to the Select Board by early December), to be followed with a Memorandum of Understanding that outlines roles, responsibilities, intentions, and objectives for the project. We will continue to post updated information as the project proceeds.
