Otis Food Pantry Update

By Terry Gould

January/February 2026

Welcome to 2026. It has a hopeful ring to it. The Otis Food Pantry has received the most amazing support from our community this past year. The world can seem to be very noisy sometimes, but we are grateful for the quiet care and generosity of our wonderful community. As we all travel into the new year together, may we continue to hold one another up however we can.

December flew by and our shelves remained stocked for anyone needing a little extra. The recipe campaign, with recipes and ingredients ready for pick up, was a huge success.

Thank you to everyone who continues to remember their neighbors every week. The pantry would not exist without you.

This is our annual informational statement: The Otis Food Pantry is open every Wednesday from 9 to 11am to anyone who would like to visit. The pantry offers non-perishable items as well as milk, eggs, butter and cheese. Monetary donations facilitate the purchase of a frozen meat selection for patrons every week. Berkshire Bounty and Berkshire Grown provide a variety of vegetables and fruits as well as eggs each week. A volunteer picks up baked goods from Big Y every Wednesday morning. We have a large blue safe box outside the back door of Otis Town Hall where non-perishable donations may be placed at any time. Volunteers check the box every day. If you have perishable donations, we ask that you bring them to the pantry on Wednesday morning between 8 and 9 am. Items that people look for every week include cold cereals, peanut butter and jelly, canned chicken and tuna, condiments like mayonnaise, pancake mix and syrup, snacks for children, toilet paper, canned fruit and vegetables, hash, chili and ravioli as well as pasta and sauce.

Thank you again to everyone who continue to stock our shelves. Happy New Year!
