Otis Community Day: Family, Food & Fun!
June 2026
Get ready for an afternoon of music, food, laughter, and hometown pride as Otis comes together on Saturday, June 13, for a celebration more than two centuries in the making.
This year’s Otis Community Day, taking place from 1 - 8 pm at Otis Ridge, marks the 216th anniversary of the town’s incorporation on June 13, 1810. The event also arrives during the nationwide observance of the 250th anniversary of the United States, making it a fitting moment to celebrate both local history and community spirit.
And the organizers are doing it in style.
The event promises to be a full day of live music, family activities, local food, artisans, community organizations, and plenty of small-town charm. Residents, seasonal visitors, and guests from neighboring towns are all invited to gather and celebrate the idea that “Otis is the place to be.” This event aims to bring people together in the tradition of small towns in a lively, welcoming atmosphere that reflects the energy and personality of the town itself.
LIVE MUSIC!
Organizers also promise special appearances by local musicians throughout the day, keeping the celebration going from afternoon into evening. The performances are scheduled as follows:
1:00 pm, Lesley Rosenthal and Larry Southard
1:30 pm, The Juckets
3:00 pm, Eric Danforth and Lucas Solarzano
4:00 pm, Monday Project
5:45 pm, Bruce Mandel
6:30 pm, Bobby Sweet
FAMILY GAMES AND ACTIVITIES!
Families can expect plenty of hands-on fun as well. Children’s activities include:
Face Painting, from 1 to 6 pm
Potted Planting, from 2 to 3 pm
Cookie Decorating, from 3 to 6 pm
Colonial games and additional activities will add to the festive atmosphere and offer something for visitors of all ages.
BRING YOUR APPETITE!
Hungry? Local food vendors and businesses will be serving up everything from comfort food to sweet treats and icy summer favorites. Featured participants include: Grouse House, Sweet Daisy Charcuterie, Knox Trail Inn, Crescent City Shaved Ice, Paige’s Place, Rustik Eats, and Cookie’s Cupcakes.
COMMUNITY!
More than anything, organizers hope the day becomes a chance for people to reconnect — to spread out blankets on the grass, listen to live music in the summer air, catch up with neighbors, and celebrate the community that makes Otis unique.
Admission is FREE, so bring your family, your friends, your lawn chairs, and your community spirit — and join the celebration. Service animals are welcome. (Please note: no outside alcoholic beverages are permitted.)
PS: Mark your calendars for another community-wide event honoring Otis and our nation's 250th birthday! A team is now organizing a special, town-wide event on Saturday, August 8th: “Otis Celebrates 250 years of America!” Stay tuned for more details in the July and August issues of the Otis Observer.
