There is something special about a community coming together to create a place where everyone can have fun, get active, and make new friends while learning a new game. During the winter, I decided to venture down to the Farmington River School to check out this game I had never played. I was greeted by friendly faces and encouraging people who were happy to teach me how to play. The school supplies the equipment for you to borrow. They patiently told me the rules as I was immediately sent into play. The school is open every Tuesday from 6-8pm with two courts.
The age range is anywhere from 9-80s. The schedule follows the school calendar and all are welcome to attend. There are also two outdoor courts. Recently the lines were painted by volunteers. Sometimes the best things in a community begin with people simply volunteering their time, and we thank all of them. The game allows people to come together. Whether you are an experienced player or picking up a paddle for the first time, there is someone willing to encourage you, teach you, and share a game. To find out more the email is otispickleball@gmail.com. To book an outside court, please go to otispb.ilearn.bz. Come and join the fun!!!
