Town of Otis Revitalization Committee August Update
By Cynthia Fletcher
August 2025
The Revitalization Committee is focused on projects creating positive forward motion in the community, and gathering information to help guide town initiatives.
The committee launched a survey at the end of June as a means for our community to voice concerns and priorities, and to provide valuable input for future Town endeavors. The survey is accessible by scanning the QR code below or through this link: surveymonkey.com/r/K7LHH9P also shared through Town news, on the Town website, posted flyers, and on the Revitalize Otis Facebook page. It takes only a few minutes to share your thoughts.
The committee is creating narrative files compiled through interviews and research of prior projects at all levels of completion, to provide contextual insight into best ways to work going forward.
The working group addressing Business, Culture, and Recreation is investigating criteria needed for new businesses to invest in our town. A local consultant has volunteered to lead existing business-owner focus groups in discussing initiating, maintaining, and growing Otis enterprises.
Revitalization Committee member- initiated requests to the State resulted in the downtown speed limit being reduced to 30 mph, a win for public safety.
Throughout July and August, a variety of food trucks have been booked for the Food Truck Tuesday event downtown at St. Mary’s Church, providing additional dining choices for the summer. Updates and menus will be shared on social media along with municipal and community initiatives. Recent topics include: how to subscribe to Town news, links to the Town calendar, monthly updates from the Otis Observer including "Otis is the Place to Be," highlighting community and seasonal events and bringing people together.
Our regular meeting is the fourth Monday of each month at 10:00 AM in the Town Hall conference room. We welcome your participation.
