A Fond Farewell

We bid a fond farewell to two pillars of the Otis community this month. The Pyenson family has been part of our community since the early 1900s with the establishment of the Otis Poultry Farm on

Route 8. Over the years the clever signs along the road have caught the eyes of so many tourists and have been a stopping point for thousands as they came to the venues and events in the Berkshires. Skiers, leaf peepers and concert goers have enjoyed the eclectic variety of goods sold at the Poultry Farm along with the eggs, chicken pot pies, fruit pies, wines and breads they are famous for.

The property had been for sale for many years, and what appeared to be a strong, solid offer fell apart after a long period. Lynn was able to sell the diner, and their house also sold, but the 23-acre Poultry Farm has not sold. With time passing, Andy and Lynn decided that they wanted to make the move to be closer to family in Ohio and they will be gone by the time you read this. With a reduced price as an incentive, the Pyensons are hoping for a quick sale of the property.

“At this point, we are looking forward to living somewhere that is not as touristy as this area. We’ve both catered to this clientele and now it is time for us. It is time to start a new chapter. We will miss everyone and wish to thank the Otis community for their support over the years,” says Lynn.

They closed their doors on April 13th and any merchandise left after a 50% blowout sale will be donated. The community wishes to thank the Pyenson Family for their service to Otis and for providing a space for the garden. You will be missed, but we all hope you enjoy your retirement and find peace and joy in your new home for many years to come.
