November 2026

The Berkshire Regional Transit Authority (BRTA) is happy to announce that MassDOT has competitively selected us to receive funding, so we are extending our Transportation for Seniors in rural areas for FY27. This FREE program operates July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027. This transportation is for all seniors 60+ years living in one of the 17 listed towns that follow.

Alford, Becket, Clarksburg, Florida, Hancock, Hinsdale, Monterey, Mount Washington, New Ashford, New Marlborough, Otis, Peru, Richmond, Savoy, Washington, West Stockbridge, and Windsor.

Operating hours are Monday – Saturday, from 7 am-6 pm. BRTA will provide transportation to any of the 30 communities we serve.

BRTA's Rural Senior Van Service is a lifeline for residents aged 60 and over in our rural towns. This program offers safe, door-to-door transportation for seniors, connecting them to:

● Medical appointments
● Grocery stores and pharmacies
● Community centers and events
● Essential errands and personal needs

This service is designed to reduce isolation, improve access to healthcare and nutrition, and support aging in place, all with friendly, trained drivers. To receive the transportation, call (800) 292-2782 or visit https://berkshirerta.gov/
