Time Travel Adventure At FRRSD

By Laura Catullo

May 2025

Once again the Farmington River Community Productions is gearing up for its spring musical! This year's show Time Travelers Eco Adventure will be performed, free of charge, at the school for the community on Thursday, May 29th at 6:30 p.m.

This is the 5th musical production written by students and staff since 2021, with a focus on themes related to caring for our environment. Each of the productions has been awarded generous grant funding from the Otis and Sandisfield Cultural Councils.

This year the characters will embark on a time travel adventure where they will meet important historical figures who have worked to preserve our natural world and protect the living creatures in their habitats, including the father of the national parks, John Muir, Pythagoras in ancient Greece, and Jane Goodall, as well as future scientists and inventors.

More than 25 students in grades two through six will perform in the show. In addition to helping edit and write the script, they have been learning about acting, stage presence and choreography from Pulse Dance Studio in Great Barrington and local theater enthusiasts, local musicians and our own instrumental instructor, Isabel Marcheselli. With help from parent volunteers, students will also prepare the backdrop and stage sets to be used.

Please join us on Thursday evening, May 29th, at 6:30 p.m. for this fun and educational time travel journey. There will be a bake sale and a 50-50 raffle to help raise funds for the musical/theater department.
