Election Results in Otis

On Election Day last month 1073 registered voters in Otis turned out to vote. This represents 78.7% of the town’s total registered voters. Here are some of the election results.
• In the Presidential and Vice-Presidential race 549 votes were cast for the Harris/Walz ticket making up 51.2% of the total votes cast. The Trump/Vance ticket received 489 votes making up 45.6% of the total votes cast. Third party candidates received 26 votes in total followed by five write-ins and four blanks.
• Votes in the race for Senator in Congress were 534 for Elizabeth A. Warren, 493 for John Deaton, 44 blanks and two write-ins.
• In the Representative in Congress race Richard E. Neal received 515 votes and Nadia Donya Milleron received 459 votes. There were 98 blanks and one write-in.
• In the Councilor race Tara J. Jacobs received 670 votes. There were 397 blanks and six write-ins.
• In the Senator in General Court race Paul W. Mark received 561 votes and David Rosa received 405 votes. There were 107 blanks and no write-ins.
• In the Representative in General Court race Leigh Susan Davis received 465 votes. Marybeth F. Mitts received 487 votes. There were 121 blanks and no write-ins.
• For Clerk of Courts Lisa A. Denault-Viale received 681 votes. There were 387 blanks and 5 write-ins.
• For Registrar of Deeds Patty Harris received 689 votes. There were 380 blanks and four write-ins.
• On ballot questions, Otis voters cast 636 yes votes to 332 no votes on question one, to allow audits of the state Legislature. Question two to repeal the requirement to pass a competency exam to graduate from high school there were 645 yes votes to 382 no votes. On question three to allow ride-share drivers to form labor unions there were 505 yes votes to 462 no votes. On question four to legalize certain psychedelic substances there were 410 yes votes to 596 no votes. On question five to raise the minimum wage for tipped workers there were 357 yes votes to 645 no votes. And on question six, a non-binding public policy question for the State Rep. – third Berkshire District – Single Payer Health Care, there were 586 yes votes to 382 no votes.
